Mrs. Silver of Orono Dies of Heart Attack - Mrs. Sarah Silver, 71, widow of Barney Silver of Orono, died suddenly Friday morning following a heart attack. Mrs. Silver was born in Warsaw, Poland, the daughter of Moishe and Shifra Goldberg. She came to this country 55 years ago and resided in Bangor until taking up residence in Orono more than 40 years ago. Mrs. Silver was a charming woman who was widely known for her philanthropies. She was a member of Pine Tree Chapter of B'nai B'rith Women, the Bangor Chapter of Hadassah, and Toldos Itzcholck Synagogue. She is survived by four sons: George H. Silver and Abraham Silver of Bangor, Louis Silver of Veazie, and Alex Silver of Presque Isle: by two daughters, Mrs. Jack Serota and Mrs. Peter Schwartz, both of orono: by three brothers, Jackson Goldberg of Capetwon, South Africa, Benjamin Goldberg of Johannesburg, South Africa, and David Goldberg of Edgeware, Middlesex, England: by two sisters, mrs. Bluma Cooperstein of Bangor and Miss Leah Goldberg of Paris, France. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
