Howard L. Kominsky - Bangor-Howard L. Komisky, 65, a Bangor dentist for 33 years, died Monday, Jan. 21, 1980, at a Boston hospital. He was born April 24, 1914, in Bangor, son of Max and Minnie (Ginsberg) Kominsky. He attended Bangor schools and graduated from Bangor High School. He was a graduate of Bowdoin College and Tufts College of Dental Medicine. He was a major in the U. S. Army Air Corps Dental Service. Following his military duty, he set up a dental practice in Bangor, working until his retirement in October, 1979. He was active in numerous civic organizations, religious activities, charitable and educational efforts and was a member of the board of directors of Depositors Trust Co. of Bangor, Maine Dental Association, serving as a chairman of the ethics and grievance committee, Penobscot Valley Dental Society and American Dental Association. He was a former president of the Jewish Community Council of Bangor, former chairman of the patrons of the fine arts at the University of Maine at Orono, former chairman of the Bangor Dental Clinic, former member of the Bangor Water Board, former member of the Bangor Chamber of Commerce and past chairman of the United Jewish Appeal Bond Drive.
