Harry Newman, 89, of 770 Morton St., Mattapan, Mass., formerly of Bangor, died Sunday afternoon in Boston. Born in Russia, he was the son of Benjamin and Rebecca Newman. He owned a grocery store in Bangor, and was a member of Beth Abraham Synagogue. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Peggy Kramer of Mattapan, Mass., Mrs. Rose Melamed of Mattapan, Mass., Mrs. Sally Grood of Los Angeles, Calif.; four sons, Benjamin Newman of Beverly Mass., Barney Newman of Malden Mass., Sam Newman of Brookline, Mass.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
