Edward L. Allen, 61, of 122 Grant Street, Bangor, founder of the Allen Drug Company, died Nov. 29 at a Bangor hospital following a brief illness. At the time of his death he was coordinator of the Medicaid Drug Program for the Maine Department of Health and Welfare. He was born in Bangor, the son of Max and Minnie (Allen) Allen. He was a graduate of Bangor High School and the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy, the class of 1930. He was a member of Congregation, Beth Israel and of the Zionist organization.
