BETTY (SMITH) LEDERMAN - BROOKLYN, N.Y., and BANGOR -- Betty (Smith) Lederman, 65, wife of Martin P. Lederman, of Brooklyn, N.Y., formerly of Bangor, died Oct. 17, 1984, at a New York City hospital. She was born in Bangor, March 5, 1919, the daughter of Nathan and Fannie (Kamner) Smith. She was active in numerous civic and charitable organizations. Surviving besides her husband of Brooklyn, are one son, Michael Nathan Lederman of Brooklyn, one brother, Dr. Paul Smith of Boston, two sisters, Mrs. Rose Rottman of Kingston, Pa., and Mrs. Esther Markowitz of Pittsfield, Mass., several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be held Friday at Weinstein West End Chapel, Brooklyn, N.Y. Funeral services will be held 12 noon Sunday at the Jewish Funeral Chapel, Center Street, Bangor, with Rabbi Henri Isaacs officiating. Interment will be Beth Israel Cemetery, Bangor. Memorial week will be observed at 663 Gibson Ave., Kingston, Pa., 18704. Friends who wish may contribute in her memory to Beth Abraham Building Fund, care of Dr. Howard Berg, 67 Poplar St., Bangor.
