The Jewish Community Council provides valuable services for the greater Bangor area. The JCC plays a critical role by bringing the whole Jewish community together by providing programming of interest to all. The JCC represents and serves members of Bangor’s three Jewish congregations, as well as unaffiliated Jews. The JCC is the only organization filling this need for central Maine. Membership dues help our community thrive by supporting numerous activities and functions.
Membership in the JCC offers many advantages.
Dues to the JCC help make possible:
- Concerts, speakers, and films for the Jewish community celebrating over 350 years of Jewish life in America
- THE JCC COMMUNITY NEWS, a newsletter that keeps the entire Jewish community informed andconnected.
- A STAFFED OFFICE serving all 3 local synagogues, the Jewish Federation, the Friendship Club (Jewish Senior Citizens Club), Jewish National Fund campaign and other local Jewish groups.
- THE JEWISH FUNERAL CHAPEL, which was beautifully renovated several years ago.
- INFORMATION AND REFERRALS for Jewish vacationers to the area and those considering relocation.
- THE FRIENDSHIP CLUB FOR SENIOR CITIZENS meets on the first Wednesday of every month. Everyone is welcome. Contact Barbara Wilde at 207-989-5335
